SURI

We purchased our first suri female in September 2006, "Alpacaspecialist Silvertone".  Silvertone (known as "PINK" to her friends) is a rose grey F1 suri.  Her sire is a medium grey suri, Parnabrae Argento, now standing in New South Wales.  Her dam is a fine brown huacaya, Bonnie Park Coppertone.  Her pedigree includes the likes of Coonawarra Julius, NWA Ltd Ruffo and the white suri sire ILR NGG Ferrari (dec.) who was sold to New Zealand.

PINK has done well in the show ring, particularly in South Australia where she has to compete against all colours including white.  At the Mt Pleasant Show in March 2007, PINK won the intermediate female class, was awarded Champion Intermediate Suri and then Grand Champion Suri.  In September 2007 PINK won the adult female class at the Victorian Colourbration show and was awarded Supreme "All other colours" Suri.  She then followed up with a first place at the Royal Melbourne Show.  At the 2008 International Fleece Show, PINK's first fleece won the 18 - 30 month grey class.  She was also awarded "Champion Grey Suri Fleece".

At this point PINK retired from the show ring, however we are still showing her fleeces, gaining 2nd at the 2009 AAA National Show - one of only two South Australian suri fleeces to win ribbons at that show.

We also purchased a black suri female "Arequipa Leanne" for our breeding program.

In January 2009, Yaringa formed a working relationship with The Australian Suri Company (TASC) owned by Stephanie Pope.  TASC owns three suri males "Kurrawa Achilles ET", "Windsong Valley Andean Regent" and "Surilana Nuclear ET".

"Surilana Nuclear ET" attended three shows in 2011.  He was awarded Champion Senior Suri at Mt Pleasant, Supreme White/Light Fawn Suri at SA Colour Classic and Supreme Suri at Royal Adelaide Show.  The 2011 AAA National Show in Sydney saw a newcommer to our show team excel - "TASC Godfather" was awarded Best Fancy Suri at the show.
